I agree that the Dog Man series has achieved separate notability per WP:BOOKCRIT. Very little of the significant coverage of the series frames it as a subtopic of Captain Underpants, especially now that it has spawned a film, two musicals and a video game. To my knowledge, the only backreferences to Captain Underpants in the Dog Man universe are a single panel in Cat Kid Comic Club and one shot in the Dog Man film. Well, now that the Dog Man movie has come out, there might be just more significant coverage of the books in the series. The initial reason for the first book's article redirect was because the sources talk mostly about the series itself, and maybe even its association with Captain Underpants, but nothing about the specific book except for one reliable review. I also tried adding in the book's plot, but that was reverted, which was another, but a little outside the point, reason for the redirect. So yeah, the chances for the Dog Man book series and its books getting their own articles again are more likely than before, as long as we can find reliable sourcing and add acceptable non-plagiarizing plot sections for the books. Dog Man is more than just a Captain Underpants spin-off, and the time has come to separate the association!SirZPthundergod9001 (talk) 11:52, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
